She says in her official site: "I studied classical ballet from the time I was 4 until 15 years old. Then one day a friend of my father's asked me to take some pictures as a model. Suddenly, after I finished high school, I found myself modeling in Tokyo, New york, Paris, Milan, etc....( and just think, when I was younger, I was skinny, funny looking, and I had super curly hair that looked Michael Jackson's afro in the seventies. I considered myself a goofball. That's probably why at 3 years old if you asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I said a comedienne.) I am only 5'7" tall, when I started modeling that was tiny. This obstacle became a challenge:I needed to be successful in what I was doing. If you haven't understood already , I'm very determined in achieving my goals in all areas of my life! Modeling was a fantasic experience but it was certainly not my dream. I wanted to be an actress, so when I was 21, I quit modeling full time and started studying at the actor's studio and HB studio in New York. Suddenly, I found myself being flown out to Los Angeles for a screen test with Eddie Murphy for the lead in "Harlem Nights". The role "required" a mulatto actress and I was only dark skinned thanks to a fabulous suntan. Needless to say I didn't get the job, but I used the opportunity to meet several people in the business thus transfering to LA. I was 21 years old and about to begin my career as an actress.
